Duxbury is approximately 35 miles south of Boston and has a more than 14,000 residents. Duxbury Beach is a major, unspoiled, natural recreational asset. Duxbury Bay supports an active shellfish industry which has become famous for its oysters. The town is considered an affluent suburb of Boston.
